Can Hemorrhoids Cause Bloody Stools?

i have had ulcerative colitis in the past, however am not on any medications now, and have not had any problems for past 5years until now. lots of blood in stools, painful passing of stools,ect..could that be hemmorroids, and should i get another colonoscopy, last one was 9 years ago.

Yes, hemorrhoids can cause blood in the stool. And ulcerative colitis also can cause blood in stools. Hemorrhoids bleeding is bright red in color and fresh in nature. But ulcerative colitis blood may be altered color associated with mucus. Eat a high fiber diet and exercise regularly. Avoid smoking and caffeine drinks. If symptoms not improved, please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
