Can Hcg Drops Affect Fertility?

Hi Doctor. I am 30 years old and female. I bought HCG drops and just started taking them today. I am nervous that taking the drops will somehow affect my fertility or make me unable to get pregnant in about 3 months. I am also worried that it could affect my baby.

Hi.

The main thing here is who prescribed you the drops or whether you are self-prescribing? If your doctor has prescribed the drops then all you need to do is to inform him/her about your plans to conceive soon. But if you are self-prescribing then I would recommend you to stop immediately. Not only because you are planning on conceiving but also because self-prescription of any medications is not a wise step.

As you are not already pregnant, it cannot and most probably will not cause any harm to your baby, but please use only those medications that your doctor prescribes.

Best wishes.
