Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
There is a hard lump in my throat right beside my uvula, on the left side. I recently had a major allergy/hay fever attack and was very congested on that side of my sinuses. I m wondering if it s related? Possibly residual and will just go away with time? Or is it infected, etc.?
As per your query you have hard lump in throat and you also had allergic reaction recently . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like tonsillitis , strep throat , uvulitis , viral pharyngitis , acid reflux and allergic reaction. I would suggest you to do warl saline gargles and betadine gargles alternatively , also take anti histamine like bendryl twice a day . Consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may examine physically or with laryngoscope , may order throat swab test and viral culture test . Doctor may also order CT scan . Doctor may prescribe anti bacterial , anti viral ( acyclovir ) , anti inflammatory , anti allergic and may recommend surgery like tonsillectomy .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
