Can Gonorrhea And Syphilis Be Passed To An Unborn?

8 months pregnant and just found out i have gonorrhea and syphilis,amazingly my baby's daddy is my first and only sex partner....i would like to know if i am too late to be cured, if the disease would leave me completely and not be dormant and the risks to my unborn child

Thank you for query.gonorrhea and syphilis, can affect the new born if not diagnosed in pregnant women and treated .If you have been adequately treated for gonorrhea and syphilis,you need not bother of infecting the newborn.Take all the drugs and precautions the doctors advice you before and during and after delivery.you need not bother and leave it to the doctors they will manage.but follow all with utmost care.You can get back for any clarifications with details.Dr Bharatesh D Basti Dermatologist and venereologist.
