Can Gastritis Cause Elevated Lipase?

Have been diagnosed with elevated lipase level last week of 71 normal level (7-60L). Suffering gastritis also at the moment. Have not had a drink in 3 weeks, is this pancreatitis or something else. Would be a weekend moderate drinker usually. Can gastritis cause this ? Thanks so much

Hi welcome to HCM...

Lipase elevated in following conditions .....
1.Acute pancreatitis
2.Acute cholecystitis
3.Intestinal disease
4.Renal failure ....

You have history of alcohol drinking , so first two causes has to be ruled out ...

USG abdomen and serum amylase estimation also has to be done ....

Avoid alcohol drinking and symptomatic management done ....

Maintain hydration....

Also check calcium level if pancreatitis there ...

Consult physician for detail work up...
