Can Gastritis Cause Chronic Stomach Pain After Eating?
I took a EGD today my Dr found Granularity, erythema and congestion in the antrum compatible with gastritis could that cause the chronic pain i have in my stomach and is this a serious problem and surgery can heal it In 2007 i got my Spleen Remove and tail end of my pancreas do to cysts non cancer. Im 52-year-old I have about 25 surgeries
Hi Thanks for posting on HCM Sorry to hear all you have been through Your symptoms could be explained by the results of the EGD.Gastritis/gastroduodenal ulcers may give you chronic stomach pain.The first like treatment to this condition is not a surgery.Surgery is mostly indicated in complications like gastric perforation or pyloric stenosis caused by this condition.I will suggest you see your Doctor for an H pylori test.If positive, the initial management will start with H pylori eradication.You will however need anti-secretories like omeprazole, antacids like maalox.You may also avoid going for long without food, avoids peper and too spicy foods, avoid lying down immediately after meal.You may also see a Gastrologist to follow you up.
