Can Fucidin Cream Be Applied On Infected Incision And Suture Sites?

2 of my 4 incisions and the suture site on the third appears to be infected (greenish/white thick discharge; appears to be deep in the wound. Redness and swelling) a little over a week after laproscopic gallbladder removal. Therw is no doctor in my area until Monday. I removed the tegaderm and washed them with soap and water. I found some fucidin cream (expired in may 14), can I still use it on the incisions? And should I cover them lightly with a pad and tape or leave open to the air. I know not to put tegaderm on an infection.

Hello,
Thick green discarge would require a course of oral antibiotics.
As far as wound is concerned,it would be better for you to apply fresh antibiotic cream and avoid using expired cream since it was expired 8 months back.Clean the wound, put an antibiotic cream and put a sterile dressing over it.
Don't leave it open.
Thanks
