Can Flucloxacillin And Penicillin Be Taken To Relieve Toothache?

I've had a wisdom tooth infection for a while now and I'm on a 3rd set of Metronidazole antibioitics, because the dentist don't want to take the tooth out yet because it is very close to the nerve I am basically relying on antibiotics to take the infection / pain away from the tooth. I have a box of Flucloxacillin and also some Penicillin and I was wondering whether these are ok to take if the pain in the tooth does flare up again?

Thanks for using Health care Magic.

Read your query.

Your query mentions you are already taking the antibiotics prescribed by your dentist.

Both Flucoxacillin and pencillin are antibiotics and any antibiotic is preferred to be taken only under prescription.

If the pain does flare up ,you can have a painkiller like Ibuprofen (if you are not allergic to any medicines).

Getting the tooth out will be the best possible solution,I would advice you to get it done soon.

Thanks and regards.

Any query is always welcome.
