Can Fatigue And Black Tarry Stools Indicate Sarcopenia?

Hi, I have a friend who just turned 69. She has lost up to 10 lbs in aprox 2 weeks. She is exhausted. No matter how much or how often she eats, she is not gaining weight. She is seeing a doctor & has had bloodwork done, with no definite diagnosis. The other day she said that she had black tarry stools, and horrible stomach pain, but that was gone the next day. She is extremely physically active and energetic. Lately, she can stay u and do things for 4-5 hours then has to go to bed. She is also seeing an acupuncturist & felt much better after the visit but it did not last. The acupuncturist is having her eat mainly boiled chicken broth & rice. She is about 5ft 6in & now weights abt 98lbs. From her bloodwork results, according to the md, she does not have cancer or diabetes. She has asked to get a colonoscopy. What do you think? Could she have something like sarcopinia? Many thanks in advance. Cheryl
