hello concerned patient and thanks for writing to HCM I read your query and understand you are concerned whether the drug ambien you take at times is causing the excessive sweating. No,i dont think ambien (Zolpidem tartrate ) is causing the excessive sweating. So please dont worry about it. I have many patients on zolpidem and i never have seen a patient complaining about the excessive sweating. Also i need to tell you that ambien you are taking is a very low dose and not likely to cause any side effects i would like to know the following though : your age and sex,any other medical or drug history? i would also recommend you to do a thyroid function test and a fasting blood sugar done as both thyroid disorders and diabetes can cause this excessive sweating. are you taking any other drugs other than ambien?i would like to rule out drug interactions if that is the case i would also recommend you to relax and try medication in case you are anxious as that can also cause excessive sweating. Please also understand above physical exertion as you mentioned can cause sweating in any person and also the temperature and humidity of the room you are in can also affect sweating Hope i have clarified and hope it helps.
