Hello im having quite a problem, 4 months now im experiencing a lot of stress and anxiety that can last all day and that increase my heart rate etc... in the last 2/3 months i made 3 ECG'S and one ecocardiogram because each time i have this i always think i can make any damage to my heart or something like that... im still young 20 years old and i made a ECG and an ecocardiogram 15 days ago and everything was normal my doubt is , since i had another of this anxiety increase yesterday and today that can last all day and that make my heart increase that i can create a cardiac problem or something like that because of it, so my doubt is can the heart stop or have any problem because of this?

Hello

I would like to assure you that the anxiety will not damage your heart.

Rather than going for unnecessary investigations, i would suggest you to seek a proper treatment for anxiety from a psychiatrist.

Psychological treatments like biofeedback and progressive muscle relaxation will help to control anxiety.

Additionally drugs like klonopin (prescription drugs) can help to reduce intense anxiety.

Avoid tea coffee and chocolates as these can increase anxiety.

Practice relaxation exercises like deep breathing and meditation regularly.

Thanks.
