Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your partner have symptoms of earaches and headaches caused by tonsillitis. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like lymph node infection, inflammation of tonsils, ear drum perforation or sometimes upper respiratory tract infection spread to ear through Eustachian tube. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to take ibuprofen for pain and apply dry warm compresses on external ear. You should do warm saline gargles. You should consult ENT specialist for proper checkup. Doctor may order blood tests and throat swab tests. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics like gentamycin along with anti inflammatory. Doctor may prescribe tonsillectomy after analyzing condition. Avoid cold carbonated beverages and avoid intake of hot, sharp and spicy foods.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
