my ex husband has been to hospital to have a scan because he has noticed blood in his mucus. Very unlikely that he would have told them that he is an alcoholic. Hospital have told him there is no problem after he had CT scan but if he hasn t told them about his drinking I suspect that they did not consider this. Is it likely that the blood could be because he is a heavy drinker?

I have a son who is 32 and I believe is well on his way to alcoholism. He has this horrible cough, and now having panic attacks. At first, I didn t relate the 2, but now I m beginning to think it is due to his drinking. His father and grandfather were alcoholics, but his dad and I were divorced when my son was 3. I don t want him to continue this cycle. He has a 9 year old son, and I know alcoholism runs in families. Is the cough and panic attacks related to his drinking. ? It is hard for him to admit he has a problem. What do you suggest?

Hi- This morning I woke up with a sore throat and runny nose. I also had a swollen gland on the right side of my neck under my jaw. It s not sore, and feels hard to touch. Also during the day the swelling goes down occasionally (after a saline gargle etc.). Should I be worried about these symptoms? Or is this just a simple common cold?

I m a 34 year old female. Average height and weight. I had strep throat about 3 months ago. Took antibiotics and it seemed to go away. For the past 3 weeks though a lymph node in the front left side of my neck will swell and get very painful on and off. Also the base of my tongue on that side hurts when I swallow. I can t even turn my head in the direction of the painful node when I have an attack. It will go away for a few days, but it always comes back.
