Can diverticulitis be found during a colonoscopy?

I had my first colonoscopy at age 48 I was diagnosed with breast cancer and needed to have one for clearance of the treatment I was having. Since that time I have had a colonoscopy every 7 years. with no polys. Would the diverticulitis have shown up?
