Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I displaced the vertebrae in my lower back due to a work-related injury that occured by lifting heavy materials while my body was in a twisted position. I now have numbness and tingling all throughout my lower body. I'm having problems with holding bowel movements. At first I just had to get to the restroom urgently, now my stools are liquid and I find myself with little to no warning when I need to have a bowel movement, resulting in my first accident today. Could the diarrhea be related to my injury? I'm a 21 year old female, I'm 5'7'' and 185 lbs. I have history of kidney complications; kidney stones and severe kidney infections. I also have a history of constipation, caused by an untreated (at the time) hypothyroidism condition.
Well come to HCM Thank for asking. your concern being appreciate, it could be the prolapse disc of lumber spine such case needs complete bed rest some time may need traction later physiotherapy may needed if the condition is not severe then it will be fine soon, analgesic can be tried, other symptoms of urgency of defection is not due to the disc prolapse neither it is due to any disease but it seems to be over consciousness or due to diet taken so try to change the diet, reduce the fiber containing diet, hope this information helps.
