Diabetologist 's  Response
Dear sir I understand your concern.
By observing the nature of pain and location it looks like diabetic neuropathy.
This condition is common in long standing diabetes.
i suggest you to meet a Diabetologist or endocrinologist for your nerve and foot assessment.
as suggested by your primary care doctor it very important to take vitamin b12 for the regeneration of damaged nerve.
in some cases poor diabetes control will also will lead to this kind of pains
I honestly hope this helps you as you work towards identifying the best drug and dosages for your diabetes. Feel free to come back if you need more information.
I wish you good health.
I will appreciate your review about my answer.
Best Regards.
