Can Dermatomyositis Be Cured By Ayurveda Medicine?
My mother-in-law is suffering from dermatomyositis. Dr has suggested some steriods injections for 3 days and along with that steriod tablets for few years. we are concerned that steriods have many side effects...hence we are looking for option in ayurvedic

Yess definatly this can be cure by ayurveda... Almost all skin disease according to ayurveda theory occurred by digestion problems, virudh Sahara..means fruit salad,curd with non veg food and many more and also chronic worm infestisions....
So basic treatment start from this...also I will suggest u a body purification program called panchakarma specially virechana....
You can visit nearest Ayurveda clinic and do your checkup like nadi parish a,prakruti... Then doctor will suggest you.

1. Dermatomyositis is a connective tissue disorder characterized by symmetric proximal muscular weakness with elevated serum levels of muscle enzymes along with group of syndromes and since it is an autoimmune disease thus the reason for prescribing Steroids and Immunosuppresants.
2. In Ayurveda along with the said Medicine, Rasayan Chikitsa is given, since dermatomyositis involves multiple organ i.e. difficult disease with poor prognosis.
3. occurrence of cutaneous vasculitis in Dermatomyositis may be a marker of an underlying malignancy, thus be under regular supervision.
