Can costochondritis cause pain in the chest area and nerve impingement?

I believe I may have costochondritis. I have excruciating pain in my ribs at the edge of each rib all the way from sternum to bottom ribs. I also feel back in my ribs in my back. I sometimes feel like there s is nerve impingement involved as well. Sometimes my clothing touching my rib cage is painful. The pain is horrible

Yes, possibility of costochondritis (inflammation of ribs and rib cartilage) is more likely.
So follow these steps for better symptomatic relief in costochondritis.
1. Apply warm water pad on affected areas of chest.
2. Avoid movements causing pain.
3. Avoid heavyweight lifting and strenuous exercise.
4. Take simple painkiller and anti inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen, paracetamol etc.
5. Sit with proper back support.
