Hi,

Celexa contains citalopram which belongs to the group of antidepressant medications known as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) is used to treat depression. Depression is a type of mood disorder in which someone has feelings of sadness and can lose interest in things he or she normally enjoys.

SSRI antidepressant medications like Celexa were found in the review to intensify dreams and increase how often people reported having nightmares. Specially, depression may decrease the length of time it takes to enter REM (rapid eye movement) and increases the frequency of rapid eye movements during sleep. In conjunction with these changes in REM sleep, people with depression report having more negative dreams or nightmares. SSRI like Celexa which treat depression can also impact your dreams through affecting REM sleep. SSRI antidepressants like Celexa causes easy bruising, sweating as a side effects.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
