Can Blood Transfusion For Thalassemia Be Taken While Travelling?

I am a 15 year old male with thalassemia. I receive blood transfusions every two weeks. I am touring with my dad's band in the fall and wanted to know how it could be arranged to make sure I keep to my schedule. Do we have to set it up with a hospital near the area we are staying at the time, or if I have a travelling nurse, is there a way to stockpile the blood that was donated for me?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
You can take blood transfusion while travelling.
Before transfusion, blood grouping and cross matching has to be done.
Thus, get blood grouping and cross matching from a blood bank. The blood can be stockpiled for maximum of 42 days in the blood bank.
You can get the blood stockpiled if possible.
There is no contraindication for blood donation while travelling.

Thanks and take care
