Can Blisters In Periya Suggest Herpes?

Hi. I have had reoccuring sometimes painful bumps/blisters around my perineum. My gynogologist told me it was a yeast infection and game me some cream. It would go away and then come back. I was diagnosed with having genital herpes in the past. I went back to the same gynocologist and asked him if it is possible to get herpes near the perineum and he took a swab. I found the results out the other day and he told me they were negative for herpes. What else could it be?

Hi there.
I read your detailed query with interest & EMPATHISE WITH YOU.
The swab in my humble opinion is useless to test for herpes.
It will require a blood test to check for the presence of Herpes 1 & 2 Ig G & Ig M & this will not only tell you if you indeed have the disease, also will tell you what titer it is & help in the treatment & prognosis depending on the type of herpes.
If you were diagnosed with having genital herpes in the past, it is very likely that this is still the case.
Trust this will have helped you sort your problem out.
Good Luck & Godspeed.
