Can anyone help in determining the cause of my rapid heart rate ?

At rest, my heart rate is 107. My blood pressure is 124/76 which I am told is normal. I don t take in a lot of caffeine, and I don t take chemical stimulants. I ve had my cholesterol checked and both HDL and LDL are low. I m not stressed, I get enough sleep, and I eat somewhat healthy. Can anyone help in determining the cause of my rapid heart rate ? It s making me nervous. I won t have health insurance for another month, so going to the doctor until then is out of the question. It s too expensive. $500 just for going to the ER, not including testing. That s just to be looked at and told that nothing is wrong. So, any help would be appreciated.

Heart palpitations and chest pains, headaches and migraines, fatigue and exhaustion, depression, irritability, moodiness, inability to concentrate, nausea and vomiting, dizziness and even oily skin and tingling outer extremities are all symptoms of Vitamin B12 deficiency!! Not pretty hey. You need to increase foods rich in this vitamin in your daily food intake - yeast, liver, eggs, milk, cheese and fish, kidney and pork. Go get yourself a really good quality multivitamin supplement with all the B vitamins included in it. Don't buy the B vitamins individually as they work best as a group - B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B12. Don't buy synthetic vitamins (the cheap and nasty ones) as they are notoriously hard to digest. Expect to pay around $30.00 AUD for a months supply. If you don't see a rapid improvement in your symptoms within a few hours then certainly you must go to the emergency room!! Vitamin B12 deficiency is apparently one of the most common vitamin deficiencies today, most likely due to the fact that our Doctor's never make it clear to us that it essential to maintain your body's dietary requirements or symptoms such as yours will occur. The B group of vitamins are a water soluble group and therefore the body can neither store them or produce them. We need to replace them on a daily basis. Take better care of your body and I assure you, you will reap the benefits. Your body is simply telling you that it needs extra B vitamins, please!!...............:0) PEACE

A year ago my mother had a so-called stroke. After some tests they found she had a hole in her heart but they told her it was too small and not to worry. Afternoon Doctor(s), My Fiancee had been commenting recently on how hard and fast her heart beats for no apparent reason. It can happen for no reason, like sitting watching tv or normal everyday tasks, she is currently lying down on the sofa while i watch the tv after another occurance of the problem. She has been quite stressed at work recently and has been working alot, her fitness is ok in my opinion as she walks to work most days and works in a shop so she is on the go most of the day, we also go walking maybe twice a week. She used to get panic attacks, but that was years ago and hasn t had one for years. I think it may be down to stress at work as she is really tired just now aswell, she drinks maybe 3 - 5 cups of tea a day aswell so i suggested she cut down. Do you have any other suggestions as to what could be causing this? Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi. I am a 31 years old female with 2 kids (4 year & 1 year old) With my first pregnancy my gynecologist had difficulty taking my blood presure due to the fact that he said my heart skip beats. I went for a check up and they diognosed me with Barlow syndrome. Everything went well and I started getting rapid heartrates ones every 3-4 months. With my second pregnancy when I was about 7 months pregnant I started getting rapid heart beats once to twice a day, short breaths as well as feeling dizzy. I went to the cadioligist and while they do a ECG and heat sonar my heart beat was 220 bpm. I was diognosed with RVOT They admitted me to Cardio ICU and put my on beta blockers for the rest of my pregnancy. 2 months after my baby was born I had to go for a ablation. Unfortunatly it was unsuccessfull as after 2 hours in theater and they pumped me full of adrenaline they could not find the impulse causing my condition. It a year later and I can only recall having it 3 - 4 times. However, last week I helped my husband moving a relatively heavy peace of furniture and about 5 -10 min later I felt my heart racing again. I counted it and counted 210 bpm and I felt dizzy for quite a while. I could see/feel my heart pounding. Luckaly it did not last a long time. 3-4 Days later I went to my excersise clas and we did a lot of excersise using own body wait. I started having dizzyness intervals that lasted about 30 seconds (did not bother me alot), but when I got home and started went to bed, I could feel my heart beat and it felled the if my heard was beating so hard the bed was shaking , even my dog which was lying next to me looked at my chest all funny. I was wondering. Could it be due to me carrying heavy things causing my rapid heart beat? Is that why I got it so late in my pregnancies as the babies are quite big in that time and you carry heavy (lots of extra weight? And getting it for carrying my 2 - 3 year old then due to her weight? Might sound silly, but am wondering and what it could be and is there something I can do to help me with it?

My resting heart rate is unusually fast and even if i just walk up the stairs my heart is racing like ive just ran a mile. When i exercise i can feel my heartbeat in my chin and other strange places aswell as having red, blotchy skin all over my body, mostly my face and arms. Also, after exercise, if i open my mouth i can hear my heartbeat, its like a ticking noise. My mouth goes very very dry too. Finally ive noticed that if i lie down and place something across my chest for example a book or ipad, i can see my ipad wobble alot from my heartbeat, is any of this normal??

I am a 23 year old female, studying medicine. For past 8 months, i have been having some episodes of heart 'dysfunctions' that now have turned constant. I need help in knowing what is the condition.
It started last may when one day i started feeling so weak that i just could not get up and was having a splitting headache, when i measured my BP was 90/55mmHg ( before it was always 120/80mmHg). I was having palpitations, bradycardia at times, tachycardia at times, extreme weakness, sweating ( especially on scalp) after sleeping after headache. I was also having light sleep.
Slowly, these episodes became constant. Now I am feeling weak all times, light headed if sitting or standing for long, headache (thumping with constant heaviness), inability to sleep, tightness in chest, chest pain sometimes, tachycardia at any normal activity (walking, doing some tidy up), BP is still low. I also get dry cough on breathing sometimes.
So i got a holter done for 24 hours, got following:
- sinus tachycardia( 110- 120) almost all day with some normal rate in between, my heart rate dropped to 50 in middle of night ( reason causing me to wake up from sleep and not to sleep again) and it remained like that for 3 hours
- average pulse -81
- my heart rate jumped to 179 per min when i climbed stairs ( 9 floors, easily climbed by others), breathing became laboured, headache with blacking out sensations ( i did not faint though)
- I have some abnormalities in lead I, II and III ( looks like left axis deviation as lead I is showing highest peaks and is moving away from III ) even the avL and avF looks weird, QTc>450ms is 47%, no ST deviation, no T wave abnormalities
I also have tachypnea (26-28 per min) and accentuation of Pulmonary part of second heart sound. I also have slight edema on my feet ( bluish tinge)
I also did a blood work up, I do not have thyroid problems or anemia
I need some advice on what i might be having, so as to proceed further on treatment.
