Can Anxiety Cause Sweating In Head And Loss Of Sleep?

I strained my neck a couple of weeks ago. I had problems sleeping for a few nights but it got better and was able to sleep through the night. Tonight when I laid down to sleep my head got hot and was sweating. This along with some anxiety is keeping me from sleeping. What to do?

Hello and welcome to Healthcare Magic. Thanks for your query.

I understand that you are worried about your symptoms of sleep disturbance, hot sensation in the head, increased sweating along with anxiety.

It is likely that all your symptoms are related to anxiety. Anxiety can casue disturbed sleep as well as physical symptoms like increased sweating, hot sensations, etc.

I would suggest that you practice some relaxation techniques like deep breathing, yoga, meditation, etc. before you go to bed.

Try not to keep "monitoring" or over-analyzing your symptoms and rather try to ignore them. You should also practice strict sleep hygiene - such as having fixed bed times and waking up times.

In case, your anxiety and these symptoms are persistent, then you may seek professional help from a psychiatrist. Anxiety problems can be treated effectively with medication and psychological therapy.

Wish you all the best.
