I was told I had urinary Tract infection and given antibiotics on the third day I developed very bad lower back pains and more cramping in the legs.. I have been having pains in my right side cramping at times where the kidney is .. I am concerned that the antibiotic causes me to feel this pain now stiffness in my body hard to walk… is it related this pain to the antibiotic should I stop i was told to take for three days have taken it now for 2.5 days… Thankyou
Hi & Welcome. Based on the history given you seem to have developed side effects due to the antibiotic apparently a fluoroquinolone like Ciprofloxacin.
It is known to cause musculoskeletal complications like tendonitis, cartilage damage and myopathy.
Stop taking this antibiotic and consult your treating physician for an alternate effective but a safer antibiotic to treat the urinary tract infection.
Hope this will help.
