Can Anabolic Steroids Cause Hypercortisolism?
Is there a relationship cause between use of anabolic steroids and Hypercortisolism? Can chronic stress give you urine free cortisols larger than 400 (Max 80) ? Are there documented cases of urinary free cortisols larger than 400 that aren t dued to Cushing disease ( neither Cushing syndrome)? Are there any known substances that can alter urine free cortisol ( increasing it to values larger than 400) ?

Yes ,anabolic steroids may cause hormonal imbalance,including cortisol increase so this is obvious cause. Stress would not cause such high values and some endocrine tumors may be considered if there is no intake of anabolic steroids. When there is high cortisol then also ,other hormones should be checked.
