Pediatrician 's  Response

Yes, he sure can, as long as he has a good general health, a hemoglobin of at least 10-11 gms%, a normal chest X ray, a reasonable body weight of about 9-10 kg and no other medical problems. In addition, the child must be certified "fit for surgery" and "fit for anaesthesia" before the surgeon will operate upon him. These certifications are done by his pediatrician and additionally, by the anesthesiologist who will give him anesthesia. Lastly, he must be free from any blood-borne diseases like malaria, HIV, Hepatitis C and B, or else, they will not admit him to the Operation Room for his surgery.

I hope that answers your question.
