Can an ECG always detect a heart attack? Are there instances when an ECG fails to detect a heart attack?
My fiancée who is type 2 diabetic, had a heart attack last October and had a stent fitted. She is now experiencing springes in her chest, irregular pain in her jaw - not necessarily after exertion. Could she be having further heart attacks? The Paramedics connected her to an ECG last Saturday which registered normal, but I thought the Paramedic suggested that an ECG may not always detect a heart attack. It was also suggested that she may not necessarily experience chest pain during a heart attack due to being a diabetic. I welcome your opinions on the above.
