General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello, I really appreciate your concern. Climbing few stairs with support will be alright for your husband. Avoid excessive straining of abdominal muscles.
He should be given high fiber diet because in post surgery period constipation is common due to restricted body mobility. Try fresh fruits, green vegetables and curd in meals. If there is decreased appetite then try to eat in small fractions several times. If there is constipation then use stool softener.
If your husband is on antibiotics and pain killer medications then it is advisable to avoid alcohol consumption. After completion of medication course, he can resume to mild alcohol intake.
Hope my answer has solved your query. Take Care.
Thank you.
