Can Alcohol Be Taken With Monocef?

Hi, I have had Typhiod for past 3weeks. About a week now , I dont have any more sysmptoms of typhiod. Still I am taking monocef 200for another 15days. Can alcohol be taken during this period? Does Acohol have any adverse affect on Salmonella Typhi 0 or H?

Alcohol has no effect on salmonella typhi O or H. However, we discourage alcohol intake with medications because they can modify the metabolism of drugs and also worsen the side effects. I will recommend that you stay away from alcohol until you get done with your treatment.
