Hello. Thank you for writing to us at healthcaremagic

Acne is not an infection, though a bacteria, propionibacterium acnes is implicated in the pathogenesis of acne.
This bacteria is however a commensal i.e harmless and is present in hair follicle of all human beings.
Acne is rather result of an interplay of factors like hormones, sticky epidermal cells, a bacteria, propionibacterium acnes & inflammation.
For active acne I would suggest a topical antiacne antibacterial preparation like clindamycin or benzoyl peroxide gel.
You may use topical retinoid e.g adapalene gel once daily at night or every alternate night for acne.
Topical retinoids are comedolytic and therefore prevent new acne formation while also resolving existing ones.
Oral antibiotics may also be required if you are having an inflammatory flare of acne.
I suggest you to visit a dermatologist for more details regarding how to take care of oily and acne prone skin.

Regards
