Can Abdominal Adhesions Cause Infertility?

Hello Dr. I have been trying to conceive for 8 years now since after my last pregnancy. I was on treatment for a long while on hormonal drugs, but even when ovulation was dictated, I couldn t not conceive. A HSG test and semen analysis show that all is good. However, I was told that I have adhesion due to the CS used for the last delivery and that could be responsible for my problem, Please what do you advise. Thanks Adudu Mama

Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
Pelvic adhesions do not stop you from conceiving even though in severe cases, conception is difficult and may increase the risk of ectopic pregnancy.Normal HSG and semen analysis suggest the chances of pregnancy are still high.
I will suggest you see a Gynecologist to investigate the cause of inability to conceive as there exist many other causes not only pelvic adhesions like ovulation disorders which may not be detected by HSG.
Hope my answer will help you
Best regards
