Can A Stroke Causing Speech Slurring, Arm Paralysis, Head Pain Be Helped?

We believe my father had a stroke over the weekend. His speech is slurred he has no use of his left arm and he says he is experiencing pain on the right side of his head. He is refusing medical attention. He has been depressed for quite some time and I think he is planning on using this as his chosen form of suicide. How can we help him if he is refusing to help himself?

The kind of symptoms what you have given here shows that he has got a stroke may be minor not major if it's only speech and one hand is affected. You can arrange a visit with doctor who is family friend since he is not ready to go to hospital, as well do a mental counselling with him if needed take a help of psychologist and just get to know the cause for this kind of behavior. This kind of patients reacts well if some support them for mental and social thought. I mean if some one agree with their mental and social thoughts and then keeping your thoughts to them.
But here you need to take medical treatment with proper guideline. May need speech as well physical therapy to improve further.

Hope this was helpful. Take care
