Can A Stroke Cause Sharp Chin Pain, Facial Numbness And Drooping Mouth

yesterday, I had a sharp pain in my chin as I was eating a sandwich. It lasted about a minute. Now my face feels funny and my wife said my mouth is drooping a little. I have glaucoma, but I have been having a little more trouble with my eyes today, especially the left one. My wife is concerned I had a stroke?

I read your question carefully and I understand your concern.

Facial numbness and drooping mouth could be a manifestation of stroke, but the chin pain not, it is not typical at all. I would consider a peripheral nerve issue like facial nerve palsy much more likely, as I can present with numbness drooping mouth, eyelid weakness and sometimes pain as well. So while you should be evaluated by your doctor for the facial palsy anyway, you shouldn't panic regarding a stroke.

I remain at your disposal for other questions.
