Can A Scaly, Dry, Discolored Patch On One Of My Shins Be Related To Stasis Dermatitis?

I have scaly dry discolored patch on one of my shins which was also the site of an old injury - a fall while hiking in the 70s. at the time I sustained a closed injury - a bruise. I went to the doctor at the time and she measured how much the subcutaneous blood clot was dissolving. I think i have developed stasis dermatitis.

Hi,

This patch could be stasis eczema or asteatotic eczema. Apply a topical steroid like cortisone cream on the affected area twice daily along with frequent and regular application of a moisturizing lotion on the entire leg.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Asmeet Kaur Sawhney, Dermatologist
