Can A Person Survive Massice Stroke?

My uncles had a massice stroke Satuday night. They said he wasn't going to survive but the doctors are amazed at how he is responding to commands when they wake him up and how gtrat all of his test results are. Is there any glimmer of hope that he can survive?

Hi, Stroke prognosis can be widely varied. People with minor strokes sometimes dont recover and vice versa as in your case. The problem is if he survives what neurological deficit or level of Paralysis he would be left with. If the person is determined and with good care and Physiotherapy people can regain most of their important functions.
So there is definitely hope. Do not worry and hope for the best and take good care of him.
