Can A Melted Microwave Safe Container's Lid Poison The Food?

Hi
I rather foolishly put a plastic microwave safe container in the oven for a few minutes. The lid melted slightly but wasn't smoking or anything. I thought it was ok to eat and the food seemed absolutely fine with no smell or weird taste. However I am now concerned about whether any toxic vapours were absorbed into the food and am worried I may have poisoned both myself and my boyfriend.... Advice please?
Thanks

Hi. This actually could have been asked to an engineer with background in plastics. Anyway, as we know the melted plastic might have emitted some toxic fumes. The chance is that the micro-safe plastic are different that the routine ones and would not have caused release much of toxins as there was no smoking. Rest assured, if you have no symptoms of toxicity , do not worry about id and the container of the food was unaffected. Take care next time.
