Can A Lesion In The Mons Pubis Be STD?

For the past two days, I have had a sharp pain in my right mons pubis area. It subsides in intensity at times, but is pretty much constant. Yesterday I noticed a small lesion, no head, not raised, and barely noticeable. There may have been a hair shaft in the middle but I am not entirely sure. I have had one sexual partner for the past 5 years, but have not been tested in a while. I am terrified that this is an STD and would appreciate any feedback. Thank you.

Thank you for query.By the description given it may be folliculitis .clean the area with warm water twice daily.please use topical antibiotics like fucidin or silverex or mupirocin twice daily till it subsides. You wear loose cotton clothes.see that there is no friction or irritation. You can use analgesics like brufen if needed. It is not due to STD as both have single partners and site also does not favor it. oral antibiotics may be needed .Consult doctor if does not subside else You can get back directly to me for any clarifications with the photos.Dr Bharatesh D Basti Dermatologist and Venereologist.
