Can A Hysterectomy Help In Treating Polyps In The Uterus?

My daughter has polips in her uterus. She is 33 . Her doctor said she could either remove the polips or have a hesterectomy. She is really considering the hysterectomy because there is a chance the polips will come back. If they leave her ovaries in tact will she go into menopause?

Hello,

Yes, she will. we remove the ovaries so chances of carcinoma are less . if she has completed her family then she can undergo hysterectomy or else a polypectomy is just fine.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Harshita, Ophthalmologist
