Can A Doctor Treat Boil On Left Thigh In Pregnancy?

I have a boil on my left thigh that opened today the surrounding are is inflamed, I am 5 weeks pregnant. I ve had cellulitis in the past due to boil, the doctet in ear literaly drained it and cut all the puss pockets w scissors and i was put on heavy antibiotic. can a doctor treat it since I am pregnant?

Hi,

A boil can be treated in pregnancy but heavy antibiotics can damage your fetus so if the boil or cellulitis is not severe and emergency try to postpone it. BUt if you are diabetic and the boil is getting bigger or severe then you have to get operated even at the cost of your baby as your life will be in danger. Consult the surgeon as the boil needs to be seen before making a decision on time of operation
