Can A Diabetic Person Be Given Ceftriaxone For Thrombocytosis In Cellulitis?

What is the clinical significant of thrombocytosis in cellulitis/ abscess in a diabetic ? Do I need to do further work ups? Presently I giving ceftriaxone 2gm IV OD and clindamycin oral 300 mg q6. C Would it be safe to start cilostazol to improve blood circulation at foot?

Hello welcome to HCM.
First of all let me tell you that diabetic patients has more chances of infections like cellulitis than others. My advice to you is -
*your treatment for cellulitis is adequately going on, kindly repeat his CBC to know about the effect of treatment..
*u have to do lower limb arterial doppler or periscopy to check about circulation of lower limb.
*if lower limb cicirculation is impaired than patient can take cilasazol, BUT PRESCRIPTION FROM YOUR DOCTOR IS MUST.
*THRIMBOCYTOSIS can be due to infection or iron deficiency, usually no treatment required for that. It will be subsided after infection..
