Can A Morning After Pill Affect Menstrual Cycle?

Hi, I have had unprotected sex on the early hours of sunday (19th october) and about 10min after I was bleeding which I thought was my period as I am due anytime now. My periods come regularly. I took a morning after pill anyway to be on a safe side. My bleeding stopped in the evening& i have some bleeding now but its light ( not the normal one I used to get when on period) I am now worried if it is period or not. Can morning after pill effect your period? Should I do pregnancy test anyway? Thank you

I-Pill containing high dose of hormone in it,
So they will affect the menstrual cycle.
