Can Zantac Be Taken For A Long Time?

my 27 year old son has Down s syndrome and Pervasive developmental disorder. He s considered high moderate in his mental part, has some mood disorders etc. He s on Zantac 150, BID for Gerd. Can taking this med long term hurt him? If he were to cut down to one a day, what time of day would be the best to continue? Am or PM? Thanks

As far as the question of continuing of Zantac is concern this can be taken for maximum six weeks then this need to be stop taking chances of developing achlorhydria is likely, hope this helps.
