HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Xanax is a benzodiazepine. It is normally only used for the short term because this family of medications can be associated with dependence on the medication.

It is only used for short intervals when treating anxiety or sleep disorders.

Lexapro can be used for anxiety or depression. It can be used for the long term.
The xanax can be used along with lexapro for the short term.

It is common to use these types of medications together.

If the dose of xanax is too high then it may need to be reduced back to the 0.5 dose.

It would be best to speak to her doctor.

I hope this helps
