Can Valium Be Taken For Vertigo?

I have been given valium to help with vertigo however it seems the side effects of it are similar in some ways to the symptoms of vertigo. It seems to work however I am just wondering if it is safe to use? Is there danger in using it for prolonged periods of time?

Hello,my name is Dorina Gurabardhi.Vertigo is not a symptom that can be cured by valium. You can use other drugs for vertigo, for example vasoserc 16mg (betahistine is the generic name) twice a day.To prevent stomach upset, it is recommended that this medication be taken with food.
