Can Valium Be Substituted For Hydrocodone To Treat Arm Pain?

I ve had shoulder and arm pain for 5 months now. My pain Doctor is giving me Hydrocodone 5 mg. It helps a little but if I take 10mg. it feels much better , But still hurts. How ever a friend had me try her 10 mg. of Valium & it works so much better. I would like it much better to take it. Not only for that reason but the Hydrocodone is very constipating. How often can a person take Valium every 4 or 6 hours? Thanks Mary Haman

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, it is most advisable to treat the underlying cause of pain and not the pain it self because once you are on potent analgesic then dose of this needs to be increased periodically and then no limit would be there for this, hope this information helps.
