Can Valium Be Replaced As A Stabilizer Due To Tolerance Of Xanax Dosage?
I have been taking xanax (.25mg) 3x day for over 30+ years for panic/general anxiety. Never abused it. I have finally reached tolerance at this dosage. What should I do? Can i increase it to 4x day or should I get a higher dosage (.5 mg) to diminish the withdrawals until it stabilizes? I want to switch to Valium and from there do the withdrawal.
You should shift to valium to avoid tolerance and withdrawal. That would help to control the dose of benzodiazepine. Valium is long acting benzodiazepine and you can take it at low dose and gradually you can get taper it off. Better to consult a psychiatrist for proper dose monitoring. In case, you need further help, you can ask.
Thanks
