Can Tugain 5 Be Taken Instead Of Tugain 2?

Hi i am 26 years old female.. Doctor suggested tugain 2, but i didn't find one, so the pharmacy guy gave me tugain 5 and told me that there is no difference, only the concentration is different. When i was going through the instructions i saw that tugain 5 was suggested for men only. Now what do i do? Should i use the same or get it exchanged to tugain 2??

Hello
Tugain 2 or 5 means minoxidil 2% or 5 % and advised for the patient of alopecia areata ( baldness patches on scalp ) and male pattern baldness .
You see the difference is only of concentration 2% or 5%, nothing mote than this.
It is a directly acting VASODILATOR with activity promoting hair growth in baldness and alopecia areata .
Benefit is short lived.
It is not contraindicated in female so you can use it but as advised by your doctor apply in a reduced dosage ( 1/ 2 of 5% ) and no need of any exchange.
Usually there are only minor side effects like nausea , rash palpitation.
Hope this will help.
