Can Tramadol Cause Grand Mal Seizure?

I WAS JUST TOLD THAT YOU COULD HAVE A GRAND MAL SEIZURE WHILE TAKING TRAMADOL? NOT SURE IF IT WAS WHILE ALSO TAKING IT WITH SUBOXONE? I M HAVING MASSIVE NECK AND SHOULDER PAIN AND FROM AN MRI I DO HAVE A HERNIATED DISK HITTING A NERVE ROOT. STARTED SUBOXONE 2 MONTHS AGO. I THOUGHT WITH ALL THE HYPE ABOUT PERCOCETTE AND I ALSO TOOK HYDROMORPHONE FOR SEVERAL YEARS! POSSIBLY 15-20, INITIALLY DUE TO SEVERE BACK PAIN WHICH I STILL HAVE. I ALSO HAVE A HERNIATED DISK HITTING A NERVE ROOT IN MY LOW BACK. PLUS BULGING DISKS IN MY MID BACK WHICH SOMETIMES CAUSES SEVERE PAIN. I M JUST A BASKET CASE, HA! HA! HA!

Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein, I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can.
No,tramadol cant cause it. You need to do more extensive neurologic work up to see what caused this since this type of painkillers dont have such side effects.
I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time.
Kindly regards. Wish you a good health.
