Can Smecta Powder Be Used For Diarrhea?
Good morning. My daughter has diarrhea since yesterday. Constantly in the bathroom. Last night started vomiting as well. I bought Smecta sachets for her but it seems to make her stomach run more. Do i continue using the Smecta? Or do I buy something else for her?

Smecta can be used for the symptomatic management of acute diarrhea.However, the cause still needs to be investigated if it persist.Diarrhea could be caused by viral, bacteria or parasitic infections or just food poisoning or lactose intolerance.I will suggest you continue with smecta, add oral rehydration salt and zinc tablets.If the diarrhea persist, you see the Doctor for examination and a stool exam/culture.
