Can STD Be Contracted Through Protected Sex?

Hi, Background: 3 days ago I had sex with a random woman i met at a bar. During intercourse my condom broke. I do not know how long we were having unprotected sex for. She was on her period. The next day my penis head and tip have been feeling a slight burning sensation. The burning sensation would come and go (most likely because of me stressing out). However the slight burning sensation still has not stopped. I also feel a slight burning sensation when i peee My penis head is slightly more red and my genital area is more itchy than normal. Do you think i may have an STD and should get checked up? Or do you think this may just be irritation? I have had a similar issue like this in the past with slightly burning sensation after sex... I was advised to purchase over the counter anti fungal cream. Please advise, Thank you

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
You definitely need to be checked for sexually transmitted infection. You could have chlamydia which causes a burning sensation. if blisters develop it could be herpes. Do not delay, go to a clinic and get an exam for STIs.
